I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Imperial and I must say that my experience left much to be desired. Despite its illustrious history I found the hotel to be quite dated and the overall service to be lacking.Firstly the age of the hotel was evident in many aspects. The rooms felt tired and in need of renovation. The furnishings were worn-out and the decor seemed outdated. It was disappointing considering the reputation and heritage of the Imperial Hotel. Moreover I was disappointed with the level of friendliness and attentiveness from the staff. While some members were courteous there was a general lack of warmth and hospitality that one would expect from a luxury hotel. It felt as though they were going through the motions rather than genuinely caring for the guests needs.Considering the price I paid for my stay I expected a higher standard of service and amenities. However the offerings were underwhelming and I felt that I did not get value for my money. In terms of quality I would rate the hotel closer to a 2 or 3-star establishment rather than the luxury experience it claims to offer.

First great staff experience. Great selection for breakfast... no arguments there. But like all great seaside resorts routine maintenance is key. Best described as tired. You need to bin stained poolside cushions. Bin frayed towels. Bin plastic cups that have been scubbed to within an inch of their lives. Fix broken fittings and not leave holes in walls where paintings once were displayed. Im under one of the rare umbrellas as I write that at home I would have binned long ago.. its torn and full of holes. I paid a premium so expectations were high. Im considering shifting across the road fie my last day... A great location and great low density structure.. dont waste the opportunity to grow from the many comments already pasted... regards DD

I write regarding my stay on Saturday 11th November 2023.At first blush the room seems lovely. However I am appalled at my findings. I attach photographs with this email and subsequent email following with additional photographs. As you can see there were heavy stains on the lamp next to the bed the curtains were all covered in brown stains the fridge was marked and dirty a shelve in the bathroom had been removed leaving holes the wardrobes has one missing handle and various scratch and dents in the furniture the air conditioning didnt work (maintenance was called and tried to adjust the temperature to no avail) I did not sleep well due to the heat. How disappointing I came for the experience on my long vacation and this has dimmed the light on this holiday.I received a refund from the restaurant which quite frankly I felt I was in a fast-food diner.Blowing candles out as guest leave is wrong on every level not only could I smell this awful odor but the ambiance was also diminished. The waiting staff are in desperate need of training no trays used and carrying glasses close to their body and hands all over the glass isnt what I call professional or hygienic. I waited 15 minutes for a glass of Champagne and the food was warm and tasteless.Further the pool area did not have any beds available and all cabanas were booked and lay vacant throughout my time at the pool. There is nothing Imperial about this venue... Most of the staff are -(This is NOT a 5 star hotel...

Great experience at the imperial hotel even though this is an older resort it still shows off its elegance to anyone who decides to walk in Staff are very friendly and helpful when requested. Great breakfast buffet and range of restaurants that are to the rear of the property which show of a snippet of the marina. Just have a look at the swimming pool it was an amazing experience and would recommend to anyone family friendly vibe welcoming to all ages.

Upon returning to the hotel after it transitioned into the Imperial we were left incredibly disappointed. The hotel definitely lacks the luxurious feel that it previously had.The rooms were disgusting with thick layers in dust on furniture and floors housekeeping always appeared to be delayed and then performing a sub standard job. Maintenance is not the hotels priority as the rooms are poorly patched with temporary fixes in an attempt to make the place look presentable. The lobby is poorly lit where even the signature chandelier has not be maintained.Theres mention of Green is the New Black there is no evidence of sustainable practices in the hotel.Staff never appear to be warm and friendly take a very mechanical approach when providing services where previously you were always greeted with a smile and checked in on.We were there for five nights and dont see ourselves returning given the poor experience we had. The hotel is definitely not operating at a 5 Star standard.

Last weekend I had an unforgettable three night stay with my family at your stunning hotel. From my first interaction with the hotel dealing with helpful Georgia I was impressed. Jasmin ensured my check-in was so easy. My sincere gratitude to Alex for her total professionalism responding to my call for help to locate a lost article and organising its return to me.We enjoyed delicious food throughout our stay from the breakfast buffet the seafood special buffet snacks around the pool and from the bar. The service from the friendly and attentive staff in all these areas was excellent. The live pianist playing on the grande piano added to the ambiance of the elegant foyerbar area. The swimming pool and surrounds were just beautiful and so relaxing and comfortable. My room was very nice although it did show some signs of wear and tear. It is a beautiful hotel in need of TLC in some areas.

Stayed here for the second time after couple of years and things have definitely changed. Hotel now seems to lack that premium feel which it used to have and used to do it very well. Staff lacks training for e.g we would stand in the breakfast buffet line for more than 20 mins when several tables were just sitting empty.Hotel can also do with a proper clean I.e the seats in the lobby and cabanas are stained and just doesnt look clean. There is still a lot of potential but need to start with the basics such as cleanliness staff training and guest experience.

We arrived end December 2023.TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. The concierge was an old man. He looked grumpy not even a smile. The lady at the reception was serious. She smiled a bit but it was a 1 second smile. We did not get a welcome drink but until I mentioned to the lady that at the Marriot JW hotel there is a person exclusively to welcome people with a drink. We paid the New Year Eve at the IL Barocco RESTAURANT. When we arrived there was not music and 0 entertainment. We paid for the dinner thinking the hotel would have entertainment. Unfortunately there was anything. Also we wanted to HAVE DINNER IN THERE ON A DIFERENT NIGHT BUT THE MENU IS VERY LIMITED AND AGAIN NOT KIDS MENU.During New Years eve at the hotel. We thought for sure it will be live music possibly a full group of entertainers Music entertainment for the kids. Unfortunately there was not anything. but only a 5 minute show (2 people near the pool 5 mins show and a 2 mins firework waterfall) BUT there was not Fireworks at 8pm for the kids to enjoy. Our kids and all the kids who were staying at the hotel were very disappointed and were asking the staff of the hotel for the fireworks. The staff said the fireworks would take place until 12am. We thought o.k for sure they will play some music. Unfortunately not music but only a boring pianist. It was the most boring new year eve we have had in our lives. All people were complaining about the service and the lack of customer service and entertainment. DONT GO TO THIS HOTEL.DONT GO TO THIS HOTEL WITH KIDS. This place is not a kids friendly. there isnt any activity or entertainment for the kids. Prior to this hotel we stayed at Marriot JW Gold Coast. Marriot is the best hotel we have stayed in all Gold Coast. The customer service is excellent and your kids will have a blast.POOL SERVICE We arrived and booked a cabana which included 2 cocktails pizza a plate of fruit and sunscreen. My husband a I decided to order extra drinks. IT TOOK 35 mins to get our drinks. Then I ordered fish tacos. It took 55mins to get 2 fish tacos. We thought maybe this is a one off but unfortunately the following 5 days were the same. Another frustrating thing was NO MUSIC IN THE SWIMMING POOL. It feel like being in a swimming pool for retires. We chatted with many people during our 6 days holiday and everyone complaining about the lack of customer service the long wait for food and drinks and the lack of music or entertainment. The pool staff are nice. I could say they are the nicest staff in the hotel BUT still with very slow service.HOUSE KEEPING we called them several times. they did not vacuumed the floor of our room. Then they did not left shampoo and conditioner in the room. One day we could not open the door. Unfortunately my 4 year old son wanted to go to the bathroom. The lady who cleaned the room locked the room from inside. We called like 5 times for different reason. I have to accept they were good and responded to our queries.OUR ROOM Our room was good. I saw reviews about the rooms being old etc but out room was really good big we love it.Also a thank you for Glenn who took some photos of us outside the hotel. Thank you Glenn. He was amazing and friendly but not like the old man who was in there the first day.Swimming pool. SUNBEDS. Terrible experience when we arrived AND THERE WERE NOT SUNBEDS AND SOME PEOPLE INCLUDING US SITTING ON THE FLOOR . WOW paying thousands to stay in that hotel to end up sitting on the floor because there were not enough SUNBEDS.CONCLUSION GO TO Marriot JW or Sharaton. The service is way better. THIS HOTEL NEEDS A whole renovation. That big pond you have close to the swimming pool should be an infinity pool with a pool bar. What a waste of space your big and little ponds. We are paying thousands to stay in that hotel. I am sure i would have got a better customer service in one that cost 100 per night. A shame of customer service Lack of entertainment lack of music in the pool not entertainment for the kids. Terrible
